Southern Green was appointed to develop landscape proposals for environmental enhancement of five separate sheltered accommodation.
Innovative designs were developed that 'break the mould' of the traditional approach to providing garden areas for the elderly, but which are pragmatic, cost-effective and easily maintainable. A range of different character areas were developed for each facility with diverse landscape features providing a range of new opportunities for residents to interact with the external environment.
New landscape features included growing areas, patio space, timber decking, water features, exercise circulation routes, along with an overall enhancement programme for hard and soft landscaping and site furniture. The last of the five gardens was completed on site in February 2012.
